11/29/2023 0 Comments Vizio firmware 2.0.17![]() ![]() M507-G1? I was moderately happy with mine, using it as a non-smart TV (all it was ever asked to do is display AppleTV and PS5 signals - never used the built-in software), up until this firmware fiasco. Would this "input at power on" thing you mentioned help this in some way? I've never really heard of this and don't know what it means? Is it something new? After rebooting it loads up fine without an issue. The only way to rectify this is to reboot the TV in the menu options. Going into the menu on the TV it actually is connected to my Wifi network though. ![]() Something else though that's a bit more problematic- seems about 50% of the time when everything boots up and the TV starts in Smartcast I get an error message on the screen that the TV isn't connected to a network, and Smartcast just won't load. Is this a change they made with a recent firmware? It's not a huge issue but a minor annoyance. When I used to turn on my PS5 (CEC) it would go directly to my PS5 dashboard (turn on TV and AVR) but for some reason now all of a sudden when I turn everything on it's going to Smartcast by default instead. I have a PS5 connected to my AVR which is connected to my TV. I also have an M Series from 2019 and it's been acting kind of weird lately. If this issue isn't addressed and becomes the new normal for all Vizio TVs, this one will be my last one.Ĭan you clarify what the exact issue is that you are having? It's a huge pain to deal with, and it was perfectly fine when it didn't do this before the firmware update. Above all Give us a choice to DISABLE the autoswitch to Smartcast when no input is detected after 5-10 seconds. I can only hope that those at Vizio like u/Mikeatvizio or u/Vizio_SupportĪre listening to the feedback given by many users here. It's seriously making me consider getting a new TV at this point, despite everything else working fine for me. I don't know why they didn't put in an option to turn this off, or why they even changed it in the first place. As someone who has multiple consoles set up and switches a lot between them, it's such a pain now that I can't just turn a console off, wait for the TV to turn itself off, and know it'll be on the same input when I turn it back on later.īecause they decided to make it autoswitch to Smartcast when no input is detected, it doesn't go to sleep on its own if that happens either, making the auto shutdown timer completely pointless. The "Returning to Smartcast" nonsense timer is the worst part for me. If you have a question or comment you would like directed specifically to us please tag Vizio_Support or message us directly. If there is anyone who could help a fellow PC enthusiast save a few $$ by keeping the TV as a monitor, and getting it to 1080p, I and HE would GREATLY appreciate Your assistance.Īs an added request. If all else fails, a GOOD recommendation for a proper monitor for gaming, and general PC use would be appreciated, NOTHING fancy, the buyer lives in Finland, and would like to keep the cost UNDER 200Euros.I would make my own recommendation's, but as an American products, and Prices are MUCH different for US. I AM aware that SOME TV's will allow You to INPUT 1080p, but they WONT Display 1080p, kind of a marketing gimmich, or what have You. So there is TWO conflicting resolution reports. But, on the display he is only getting 1360x768.Also, when using windows "screen resolution" option, it shows recommended resolution 1360x768. First of all, He and I BOTH know Televisions are not monitors, so lets get that outta the way, CCC shows the TV as 1080p, and also shows 1080p as its "recommended" resolution. He has a LG 32LC51 that SAYS it is 1080p, but when he hooks it up to his Windows 7 64bit PC, it only displays in 1360x768. I have a friend I am trying to help with a "monitor" issue. ![]()
